Mr.Lee*G
is an
artist that sometime
uses 2 turntables, a
keyboard and a mic, or
traditional band of
instruments. Lee*G has a
soulful unique sound,
that's like no other.
When he sings you can
hear that he was
influenced by soulful
crooners like Stevie
Wonder, Marvin Gaye,
R.Kelly and Jodeci. The
vibratum comes from some
place deep in his soul.
Mr. Lee*G comes from
given name Leroy
Griffith jr. His musical
roots started at the age
of 3 years old. He
started singing in the
SDA church choir in
Trinidad the island of
his birth. He migrated
to the U.S (Brooklyn,
NY) with dreams of
becoming a star. In 2001
he linked up with
Ethiopian taste records
and did a single titled,
" the healing of the
nation" . In 2002 he
visited Sweden and did a
show with Swedish band "Svartt
Uhuru" in the city of
Ostersund. In October
2004 Lee*G did a show
for the Royal Caribbean
cruise sponsored by
Cedric Stewart and the
Bay Valley Corvette club
of Sacrament Ca. In the
summer 2005 Lee*G
collaborated with
Canadian beats man
Ghislain Porier,
creating the club
banger, "Dem nah like
me" which released
spring of 2006. He also
did some songs with
producer, "lew cypher"
A.K.A Lukas Kaiser. This
producer did the track
for his title song on
his mix CD, "They wanna
know who's Lee*G". He
also does a few tracks
on Lee*G's following CD
titled, "Real recognize
Real" which released
June 07. At the end of
summer 2005 Lee*G hooks
up with director Mat
Donnelly of Montreal
Canada, and in three
days, shot a Video, in
and around Brooklyn and
Manhattan, for the song,
"They wanna know". Lee*G
is preparing to shoot a
video for a song off his
latest CD "MAMA…. The
album" released summer
08, entitled "Missing
You". You can also find
