This charity came about after Mr. Lee G visited Africa in Jan, 2011. He visited the country of Mali, where he performed with members of the Sweden Mali voices organization. He met this organization while performing in Sweden with the Congoman crew in 2009.
Mr.Lee*G and the Congoman crew, performing righteousness in Are Sweden.
While in Mali, I remembered feeling at home…… I don’t speak fluent french or bambaran. But I felt like I understood everything that was going on around me. ”I know it sounds crazy but its true:)”. It was like being in Trinidad or one of the islands in the west indies, the food, the music, the plants, the people and the mango trees all gave me a sense of home.

As much as I had enjoyed my time performing and meeting new people in Mali, I couldn’t help but notice some of the harsh realities my Malian brothers faced on a daily basis. Then I thought about US, WE, ME and YOU”those of us that live in the USA, Europe and some parts of the Caribbean” and how fortunate we are to have clean water for drinking, reliable electricity and gas, sewage systems, garbage removal,Hospitals, clothing, food and shelter etc. And most of use take these things for granted.
I thought about the lack of clean water in Mali, the lack of medicine, the lack of education, the lack of infrastructure, the lack of this and the lack of that, and the list went on and on in my head. Until I got to the lack of help….charity….love from US.
I decided that I was going to do something to help in Mali. I am not a rich man, but I figured if I can help one or more persons through
my charity, I can make a difference. And hopefully it creates a domino effect amongst other artist, and industry professionals. Especially the ones that can afford to do so much more than me……..
Africa have been used and abused through colonialism for centuries, Imperialist have grown wealthy from her natural resouces and still her people suffer.
My charity is called, “Time To Give Back To Africa” ……
My colleagues and I are focused on water purification, water distillation, a water treatment plant that can operate along the Niger river. We want to have clean water easily accessable to the masses. There are lots of issues to address in Mali, but we feel like this one, is one of the more important ones. Once we start producing clean water for drinking in Mali, we can then move to other states in the region that are faced with the same problems.
We are also working on funding and under 16 girls and boys soccer teams, that will visit Sweden in the summer of 2012 for a series of matches.
The Malian teams are not funded by their goverment, therefore we will raise funds through raffles, shows and your donations to get them equipment.
We are presently going through the legalities for establishing the charity, “Time To Give Back To Africa” at the moment.
